I found this post in my drafts and I have no Idea why it wasn't posted yet. Well Here it is. The original Date on it is August 26, 2009 enjoy!
Yes I know it is horridly vain, but I feel the description fits. Last week My DH decided to throw out all of my old, ill-fitting, ill-becoming clothes, and then took me shopping for new ones on a trip to boise. But there were some rules:
Rule number 1 if I scrunched my nose even a little it went back on the rack, everything had to have a perfect 10 approval in order to win purchase.
Rule number 2 they had to fit NOW. yes I've been working out and yes I've been taking better care of myself, butI shouldn't have to wait in order to look and feel pretty.
Rule number 3 Absolutley under no cicumstances was I to own ANYTHING with an empire waist. it hid my natural waist and made me look bumpy.
Rule numbers 4 and 5 Embrace my shape and color pallete. I have a fairly true hour-glass figure (my hips are just the teensiest bit wider than my bust) but over the years of wieght gain I'd confinced myself that I was no longer "worthy" of calling myself by the perfect figure and kept dressing to hide my tummy rather than flatter my shape. Boy what an awakening it was when Marcus showed me my measurments and pointed out that yes my hourglass was still very much there and had never disappeared. :) The color pallete idea we took one step further by only keeping to the truest colors that I loved. Butternut yellows, sage greens, deep oranges/rusts, maroon like autum leaves, and chocolate browns. Denim was dark wash only (it's my favorite and the most flattering). and any t-shirt I bought in a color I had to also buy 1 in black so as to enhance my technitians wardrobe. (Marco begrudging left my lack wardrobe intact during the pruge owing to the fact that I'm a technitian and he wanted to make sure I still had two weeks worth of blacks before he got rid of the faded, worn and unflattering black t-shirts. LOL).

Musings
So I'm At the shop an Hour early for work because, Marco has an on site client this morning and had to have the car. So here I sit. Playing on Facebook :) In one week I went from working 9am-5pm to 9am-10pm. Cool by me at least we are finally getting something done! So far I have stiched 10 pairs of stretch pants, Altered Horton's costume, Styled 2 wigs, Sewn 10 ruffles, and made countless mock ups. And that's just the start :). Today I will be adding structure to the Cat's Hat, Working on more alteration notes, wigs, and stitching what Marie cuts out. Oh and style more wigs :). Boy I love working Summer Stock! everything goes so fast, and our designer is really cool about using the talents and interests of his staff to his advantage. I will also be getting the opportunity to do some air brush work on some of the costumes... Sweet! Well I'm going to go walk around the building until I wake up :)

Yay!
So I totally had the best scholarship Interview ever!!! Backing Up to explain. today was scholarship auditions for The Theatre Department. I have been working on compiling pictures for My portfolio since as a technician I have an interview where I present my work rather than a monologue. I had done a mock interview with my advisor and the result was shaky at best (Incidentally she is also on the scholarship committee). She felt I didn't show very much confidence in my work (I used the word "just" a lot) and that my presentation was incomplete ( I had only included shows I had worked on and did not touch on any of my class work). I took her criticisms to heart and set to work fixing my presentation.
This morning I woke up early to take Marcus to work and then I got myself ready. I wore some professional clothing that I had picked out the week before (Chocolate brown, Dark Tan, and Sage green, my personal power colors). I also did my make up using the new techniques my advisor had shown me when I'd asked for help (Make up has never been my strong point). I made note cards for my presentation (though I didn't end up needing them) and then I headed for my interview (I was the first one on the list). I smiled and spoke as clearly as I could and described every project I had in brief detail. then I asked for any questions they might have of me, and I had an answer for everyone of their questions! I felt awsome afterwords. the coolest part was, I was walking around the building afterwards and and I ran into all but 2 of the panel I had interviewed for, and all of them congragulated me on how well put together my interview was (YES!). I really hope I get a scholarship, my advisor said she was so proud of me and that she was glad I had listened to what she had said. I'm so Exited!!!
